More than two decades ago, Paul landed his first fulltime job as a reporter, working for “Traffic World,” a weekly trade magazine covering the transportation industry. In the years since, he’s moved between the B2B world and the mainstream press, adopting best practices and learning how to tell multimedia stories to a variety of audiences.
Today Paul is perhaps the best-known blogger in the world of B2B communications.
Paul’s experience in specialized publishing includes stints at Vance Publishing, the Journal of Commerce and Primedia/Prism. His editorial-consulting practice has served publishers such as SmartBrief, Penton, IDG, UBM and New York Times Co. His public-relations and content-marketing practice has served brands such as Amazon, Central Desktop, Wanted Technologies and Whatsnexx.

In the early days of the Web, Paul created an online news site that covered the waterborne trade of commodities. Later he was recruited to work as a producer for the financial news website of CNN. From there, he moved to About.com, where he oversaw dozens of online properties that covered personal finance and business. Following About’s merger with Primedia, he was promoted to vice president and given editorial responsibility for the online properties of that company’s trade magazines.
In his consulting practice, Paul has produced email newsletters, Websites and mobile content for trade associations, corporations and B2B publishers.

Paul enjoys working with people who work to make a difference. His education in psychology as well as his work experience with special-needs populations give him insight into the communication needs of nonprofits.
